When do we get the new gate key?
The new gate key is an access card.
It is both membership card and gate key.
Think of it as a card key.
We started passing out the new
card keys at the Oct. Club business meeting.
Over the next few days we mailed out all of the rest.
Starting with this new Club year
we will no longer use metal keys and padlocks on the front gate.
With the card keys
you may never have to get a new membership card key again.
* The cards are controlled by a computer.
* The computer is not located at the range.
* The computer keeps track of each time that anyone uses the gate.
* It will also keep track if anyone tries to use an unauthorized card.
* The gate will only unlock if a person uses one of our cards.
* Each card is programmed to expire at midnight on Sept. 30, 2011.
* Renewing a membership next year will change that expiration to Sept.
30, 2012.
* So, from now on all that you have to do to maintain your membership is
pay the fee,
fill out a new form and take the required safety course. Then keep on
using your same card key.
* Special NOTE! Replacing a lost or stolen card key will cost $10.
Yes, they cost a lot.
* Lost or stolen card keys should be reported at once.
* We will simply have the computer turn that card key off.
* It will not be possible to replace a lost/stolen card key with the
same membership number.
HOW THE CARD WORKS...
* You drive up to the gate just like before.
* You exit your vehicle and walk up to the gate just like before.
* To unlock the gate, you wave your new access card in front of a card
reader.
* The card reader sends a signal to the gate to unlock.
* You push the gate open just like before.
* You drive in and then close the gate just like before.
* And that's it...you exit the same way...just like before.
Note: With the new card access system you will not have to sign in
and out at the gate anymore.
Using your card will do that automatically.
